  • Salinas, CA (1888PressRelease) October 04, 2011 - The 76th Annual Monterey County Fair, which will be held August 29-September 3 (Labor Day), 2012 has announced a Theme Contest to submit ideas for the 2012 Monterey County Fair which incorporates a "Berry" Theme. The public should submit their 2012 Fair theme ideas utilizing "Berries" as their inspiration. Slogans should be eight words or less and can include some form of the word "Berry" and the words do not need to rhyme. Multiple theme ideas can be submitted per entrant in list form in e-mail, fax or via mail. Entrants can be of any age and need not be a resident of Monterey County. Entrants should also consider catchy phrases and themes that can be easily translated into art form.

    Theme entries must be submitted to the Monterey County Fair office no later than Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at 4:00 p.m and theme entries must include the official entry form (posted on the website: www.montereycountyfair.com) with the entrant's name, mailing address, phone number and e-mail address.     The Monterey County Fair Board of Directors will select and announce the winning entrant and theme on December 8, 2011. The winner of the contest will receive a VIP ticket packet (including a parking pass and 4 general admission passes) to the 2012 Monterey County Fair, have the opportunity to participate in the 2012 Cattle Drive and receive 2 tickets to the Fair Kick-Off BBQ.

    The Monterey County Fairgrounds is a premiere event center set on 22 oak-studded acres with parking. It is home of the annual Monterey County Fair, host to many major public and private events on the Central Coast, and the site of the Monterey Bay Race Place, a Satellite Wagering Facility. The Monterey County Fair is the 7th District Agricultural Association of the State of California.
