  • (1888PressRelease) December 19, 2012 - ATLANTA, GA - MLB Veteran and Free Agent Edwin Jackson and his fiancée Erika Zander will host Edwin's 33 Ways of Giving charity event Wednesday, December 19, 2012 - 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. at Kmart in Mableton, GA.Proceeding Edwin Jackson's 100 Bikes for the Holiday's event last December, the world champion pitcher will continue the holiday tradition by celebrating our troops and their families by giving back to our military community. The charity holiday event will take 33 children from Georgia military bases who has a parent deployed or has lost a parent in the line of duty on a shopping spree for the holidays.

Edwin, Erika and corporate partner Kmart are huge supporters of our troops. They are taking the 2012 holiday season to not only give back, but show their gratitude for their bravery and dedication to protect our country. Jackson will be providing a holiday shopping allowance of $110 to each of the 33 military children who may not be able to celebrate the holidays for various reasons. All giveaways are compliments of Edwin Jackson, his fiancée Erika Zanders, and their corporate sponsor Kmart #3996 in Mableton, Ga. William Bonsor, Store Manager of Kmart Mableton states, "We are extraordinarily honored to support Edwin Jackson and his fiancé Erika Zanders in this selfless act of giving so close to the holidays. We honor the sacrifice that these children and their families have made and for that our country, the state of Georgia and the community of Mableton will be forever grateful. "

Jackson is determined to make sure no child will spend Christmas without the joy of opening gifts. Being that both Jackson and Zander are dependents of active and retired Military members; this charity event hits home and holds major importance in their lives. "Our families were hand selected for their hard work and dedication in protecting our country. Due to hard economic times and/or possible loss of a parent in the line of duty across the country, it's no surprise that many families need assistance. I'm blessed to be able to make a difference," Jackson says. Jackson's dedication to giving back to our youth and providing huge smiles on a child's face continues to be the best holiday gift he could ever receive for years to come.
