  • (1888PressRelease) July 02, 2010 - The first annual Milwaukee Machine Quilting Show welcomes quilt enthusiasts from around the country August 3-7, 2010 at the Wyndham Milwaukee Airport Hotel and Convention Center. The show features a phenomenal faculty lineup of 26 talented national, international, local and new teachers. The five-day teaching schedule begins on August 3rd, 2010 and includes piecing, machine quilting, and design techniques.

    The entire event takes place under one roof, allowing attendees to take full advantage of classes, a trade show spanning two ballrooms and three quilt exhibits. Special events take place each evening and include a "Welcome to Wisconsin" buffet and award ceremony on Wednesday, a "Patchwork of Sweets" auction benefiting the Quilts of Valor on Thursday and featuring a menu oozing with chocolate and sweets, and a Tropical Grill Out and DJ Dance Party on Friday to wrap up a busy week.

    A Babylock Quest + will be given away at the MMQS Grill Out of Friday night. Only MMQS attendees who are staying at the Wyndham Milwaukee Airport and Convention Center are eligible to enter. Bus groups that stay overnight at the Wyndham Milwaukee Airport Hotel and Convention Center receive 10% off registration fees, classes, admission tickets for the tradeshow, and evening events.

    Quilts of Valor will be the beneficiary of the "Patchwork of Sweets" auction on Thursday, August 5. The mission of the QOV Foundation is to cover all service members and veterans touched by war with quilts called Quilts of Valor (QOVs). Over 28, 225 quilts have been donated to date. The Milwaukee Machine Quilting Show is pleased to participate and support this service.
