  • Miami, FL (1888PressRelease) December 28, 2011 - They say, 'What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.' But there is an exception to every rule and when it comes to the 2012 International CES, everybody wants to be in the know.

This was demonstrated by a Dec. 5th dinner hosted in Miami, FL, by the CEA executive team. Geared to build excitement for the 46th annual show taking place Jan. 10-13 in Las Vegas, the event also served as an outreach to local members of the media and the CES community. Held at famed Perricone's Marketplace & Café in the prestigious downtown Brickell area, attendees included reps from Max Borges Agency, members of the press including famous local radio personality Dave Graveline, Tech Launch Pad and Sound and Vision; and Linda Musgrove, the President of TradeShow Teacher, a local trade show consulting, marketing and management firm.

The lively dinner conversation included fond reminiscing of past CES shows, hi-tech shop talk and shared enthusiasm over new facets and features of the upcoming, larger-than-ever consumer electronics extravaganza. The 2012 CES attractions include:

    • Eureka Park TechZone: A specialized exhibit area where entrepreneurs, start-ups and small companies will showcase the next generation of technology.

    • GoElectricDrive TechZone: Featuring electric drive technologies, products and services.

    • iLounge: Now in its third year, the iLounge Pavilion will feature more than 75,000 nsf of i-related products.

    • TechZone: Showcasing the latest SmartGrid innovations and featuring the next generation of wired home networking standards that work over powerline, phone line, or Coaxial cable.

The show stats are blinding with 1.8 million net square feet of exhibition space; more than 2,700 exhibitors; more than 140,000 attendees; 5,000 analysts and members of the media; 500 speakers, and 140 countries represented. CES is arguably the most notable of all annual trade shows, both nationally and internationally, and the Las Vegas Convention Center, is reportedly, even booked 20 years in advance for highly-anticipated future CES shows.

On a local level there are more than 112 Florida-based exhibitors signed up for CES 2012, including 19 headquartered in Miami.

Dan Cole, VP of CEA Sales and Business Development, shared a bit on his business philosophy and the organization's mantra.

"We feel very fortunate to be involved in such a dynamic and exciting industry," he said. "We are lucky that we have many longtime friends and partners. Success is never promised. We work very hard to make sure that we are always better than the year before."

Illustrating that point, Cole proceeded to explain that exhibition space is available up to the 11th hour of the show as they never want to turn anyone away. Additionally, he explained the organization's 'S.U.R.E.' approach. An acronym for Sense of Urgency, Responsiveness, Empathy; he explains is their guarantee to get show questions answered and needs met expeditiously.
