Mexico Aerostructures Manufacturer to Expand its Manufacturing Footprint

  • Tucson, AZ (1888PressRelease) December 22, 2011 - The Offshore Group, and Carson, California-based Ducommun Incorporated have negotiated an extension of the latter's agreement for outsourced manufacturing support, or, "shelter," services in Mexico to support its aerospace manufacturing in Mexico activities for a six year period.

    In addition renewing its agreement for services, Ducommun Aerostructures Mexico, LLC will also expand its aerospace manufacturing footprint from its current 22,091 square feet to include an additional 39,891 square feet, through the construction of a new industrial building. Ducommun Aerospace Mexico, LLC's facilities are located in The Offshore Group's Roca Fuerte Industrial Park in Guaymas, Sonora.

"Expanded capacity at our Sonora location will enable us to service growing demand from our existing and future customer base."

    Ducommun Aerostructures designs, manufactures and engineers the largest, most complex and contoured components in the aerospace industry. Integrated processes employed by the company include: metal bonded and composite bonded details and assemblies, stretch-forming, chemical milling, precision fabrication, machining, finishing and the integration of components into subassemblies.

    The Offshore Group is the largest provider of outsourced business support, "shelter" services in Mexico. Currently 61 businesses operate at The Offshore Group's three Mexico manufacturing industrial parks in the State of Sonora, the city of Saltillo, Coahuila, and at the Group's Vangtel subsidiary in Hermosillo.
