Meridian Health Appoints New President of Ocean Medical Center

  • (1888PressRelease) May 27, 2011 - Neptune, NJ - Meridian Health announces the appointment of Dean Q. Lin, MHA, MBA, FACHE as president of Ocean Medical Center. Lin bring over fifteen years of health care experience working at two of the nation's most recognized integrated health systems: Geisinger Health System and Intermountain Health Care.

    Lin will lead the 27- year- old medical center in Brick, NJ, which is licensed for 281 beds and sees over 15,300 inpatient admissions and 68,800 emergency department visits annually. He joins a team of nearly 1,500 team members and 530 physicians. Ocean Medical Center is part of Meridian Health, the largest not-for-profit health system in Monmouth and Ocean counties and recently awarded one of FORTUNE "100 Best Companies to Work For" for the second year in a row.

    Lin spent nine years with Intermountain Health Care in Salt Lake City, Utah, advancing to the position of regional operations officer and serving as a member of the leadership team that successfully delivered top-tier performance in a region that consisted of four hospitals, 2,000 physicians and 7,000 employees. Lin successfully optimized operating performance while improving resources for the community and led new business development such as core laboratory and intellectual asset management.

    Over the past six years, Lin's career focused on innovation and ventures with Geisinger Health System in Pennsylvania. As vice president of business development, he oversaw a diversified group of community-based health services including home infusion pharmacy, benefit management services, home health and hospice and ambulatory sleep laboratories. Lin also founded and served as the chief executive officer of Careworks Convenient Healthcare™, a Geisinger Venture company that operates and develops consumer-centric ambulatory models of care as well as providing development and management services to health systems nationwide. Lin was recently elected to The Fellowship of the College of Physicians of Philadelphia in recognition of his efforts to improve access to convenient, affordable healthcare.
