Matthew Hill Adds Animated Energy Learning Story to First Time to a Drilling Rig
A new narrated, music-backed short gives families another way to explore the people behind energy production. The 41-second animation adapts a moment from Matthew Hill’s story and coloring book, with imagined characters, readable captions and a people-first lesson.
- Oklahoma City, OK (1888PressRelease) November 03, 2026 - Matthew Hill has released “First Comes Looking After People,” a 41-second animated adaptation of page 9 of his story and coloring book First Time to a Drilling Rig. Published November 1, 2026, in a 1080-by-1920-pixel portrait format, the narrated short is available on the Oilfield Tailgate YouTube channel and the Energy Adventures with Travelin’ Matt LinkedIn showcase.
The short follows Ms. Jo and an imagined family at an energy learning center, introducing the importance of staying together, following a host and leaving equipment alone. Full-color illustrations, narration, music and readable captions offer families another way to begin a conversation about the people behind energy production.
The paperback combines storytelling and coloring activities. Its companion videos adapt individual moments into short energy learning stories that families can watch and discuss together. The family and visitor route are imagined, and the animation is simplified. It is not field instruction, an emergency plan or permission to enter an operating location.
The new video is available at https://www.youtube.com/shorts/utnHHjB8usM and https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:7522718329527119872/.
