  • (1888PressRelease) January 28, 2014 - Bangkok - A notice posted on the www.immigration.co.th website stated the temporary offices would be in operation from 13 January 'until the situation improves'.

The two temporary offices are located at:

    - Major Hollywood Suksawat - 1st Floor, Suksawat Road, Ratburana, Bangkok

    - Imperial World Ladprao - 5th Floor, Ladprao Road, Wang Tong Lang, Bangkok

Opening hours are from 10.30 am to 6.30 pm Monday to Friday (except on public holidays).

For more information, the website notice asks people to telephone the hotline 1111 or visit the Immigration Division 1 website.

The Government Complex Center at Chaeng Wattana was again considered a possible target of the street demonstrations, prompting this latest closure and relocation of services to the temporary offices. Late last year, services were temporarily relocated to Imperial World Ladprao, where foreigners who would usually visit the Government Complex Center for purposes of a Thailand work permit or other requirements had to go instead.

That temporary office in Ladprao had only around 20 immigration staff counters and space was limited compared to the dedicated immigration office at Chaeng Wattana.

"Foreigners needing to process Thai visa service, 90 day reporting or other processes are well advised to allow themselves more time for visiting the temporary offices", said Apisakdi Kongkangwanchoke, spokesman for BSA Law, an international law firm in Thailand.

"Depending on the number of visitors at any given time and the temporary nature of the offices, processing of requirements might take longer than usual", noted the BSA Law spokesman.
