Starting from Diesel engines and the present day Hybrid engines, automotives have always been a touchstone of a society's progress. SAENIS in a similar endeavour presents a new milestone in the realm of "Green Technology" - SAE Effi-cycle competition. Students are required to design, simulate and fabricate a highly efficient human powered vehicle that is aerodynamic and ergonomically stable.

This vehicle with seating capacity of two passengers is to be powered by human-electric hybrid power. The objective is to promote innovation and generate consciousness amongst young engineers towards environment friendly mobility solution. Going under various rounds of competition, winning students will be suitably awarded also. In fact, we are aiming to bring forth more of the change-agents who can create something unique of their own."

LPU Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal informed: "This collaboration will bring more brilliant results for the innovative students in the section. I feel proud while sharing that our university is already having a very efficient SAE Collegiate Club-LSCC at its campus. LSCC has participated in many national and international events like 'India International Trade Fair' and 'Auto Expo - The Motor Show' to showcase students created projects. It has also hosted many events including 'Electric Vehicle Solar Championship', 'International Go-Karting Championship' to promote the use of alternate source of energy in India. LPU students, under the supervision and guidance of their teachers, have already developed many multiple projects/vehicles running on the non-alternative source of energy like Solar Car, Smart Car, Driverless Car, ATV Car & Bike etc."
