  • (1888PressRelease) March 30, 2012 - PHOENIX - Video may have killed the radio star, but short attention spans are killing the four-minute video. Knowing that more than half of YouTube viewers bail after 60 seconds (http://allthingsd.com/20081126/short-attention-span-theater-web-video-watchers-bail-fast/), Love Supine, an alternative, indie, rock and slightly Gothic band put together a much shorter video for its popular song, "Molly Ringwald is Dead" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=en-c5myDRgg).

Created in partnership with Video Editor Paul Alfonso Burch, the video tides over Love Supine fans around the world while the band works on its first album in 13 years.

"Shooting an bonafide video is something that has been a long time coming for us. Because very few people sit through an entire video these days, I approached Paul, and pitched him an idea of creating short trailer versions of videos, but then be able to make more of them," said Kak, Love Supine singer and songwriter. "That solved a number of problems, including the massive amount of content needed to create video, audience impatience, budget and time constraints."

Fans with longer attention spans can also connect with Love Supine in other ways. "I figure if people want more of me, they can download the song, come see us play and communicate with Love Supine via social media," Kak said. "However, releasing video trailers should allow us to make more videos, so in this case less means more."

What Love Supine loses in video length, it makes up for in distribution, as the video will be pushed out to 70 user-generated video sharing websites across the world. "In this Internet age, our fan base reaches far away into areas of the world like Asia Pacific," said Kak. "To offer something to our dedicated fans in those communities, we cannot rely on just a small set of tools."

In addition to watching "Molly Ringwald is Dead" on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=en-c5myDRgg), fans can keep up with Love Supine at http://www.facebook.com/LoveSupine.

Love Supine features Kak, formerly with the Tempe, Ariz.-based pop alternative band Skinny Jim, on vocals, guitars and keyboards; Gary M Smith on drums; Thomas Laufenberg on guitar and RJ Hoffman on bass. Love Supine has been together since 1998.
