  • Miami, FL (1888PressRelease) January 31, 2014 - Living Color Aquariums (www.livingcolor.com), star of Nat Geo WILD's hit reality TV show, "Fish Tank Kings" and the global industry leader in the design and manufacturing of iconic custom aquariums and themed exhibits, is proud to announce its latest strive for international aquatic education with its new exhibit at La Fundación Planeta Azul Caribe (FUPAC) in Barranquilla, Colombia.

La Fundación Planeta Azul Caribe, which translates to "The Blue Planet Caribbean Foundation," is a leading force in marine life conservation and education of Colombia's Caribbean Sea. FUPAC reached out to Living Color Aquariums to design and build an authentic replica of Colombia's beautiful marine ecosystem, after watching Season 1 and 2 of "Fish Tank Kings," which airs internationally in 27 countries, including Colombia.

"The team at La Fundación Planeta Azul Caribe came to us with the challenge of creating something that will not only educate the people of Colombia about their unique local marine life, but inspire them to be more conscious of the delicate ecosystem of Colombia's mangroves and rivers," said Mat Roy, president of Living Color and star of "Fish Tank Kings." "I'm proud of our finished product and am eager to finalize the installation and share it with visitors from across South America!"

This international aquatic exhibit was designed by Living Color's renowned team of engineers and marine biologists. The design features a 1,000-gallon custom-built split-window exhibit, separating two unique environments: the Caribbean Sea's mangroves and freshwater rivers. The display includes a custom mangrove root installation with brackish water and river rocks for an authentic look and feel. The exhibit will be displayed in FUPAC's Colombian facility, located at Barrio Canapote Calle 67 N° 13-40.
