  • Springfield, MA (1888PressRelease) September 17, 2011 - On this coming Sunday, Septermber 18, is the Light the Night Walk, which is a walk to raise money to help those with Leukemia and Lymphoma. The Light the Night Walk is organized by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

    The next Light the Night Walk takes at Look Memorial Park located at 300 North Main St., Florence, MA and the walk chairperson is Gary Rome, the owner of Gary Rome Hyundai.

    The Light the Night Walk schedule is as follows:

    Event Agenda 5:00pm - Check-in/Registration begins
    5:50pm - Remembrance Ceremony - a short service to remember loved ones who have passed (meet at Patient Services Tent)
    6:15pm - Speaking program begins
    6:30pm - Walk begins

    The walk is approximately 2 miles long (1 lap around the park) and is done at a nice and leisurely pace and will take around an hour to complete.

    Walkers who raise $100 or more (as well as patients/survivors of Leukemia and Lymphoma) will receive an illuminated balloon, Light The Night t-shirt, and a wristband entitling the walker to special event food.

    Free parking, water and snacks are available to all walkers.

    Those with dogs on dog leases, as well as those with strollers and wheelchairs are welcome to take part in the walk; although for safety reasons, bicycles, skates, skateboards and scooters are not allowed.

    The walk with talk place rain or shine.

    Gary Rome Auto Group hopes you can join the walk in helping those stricken with cancer raise money and awareness. The walk is a nice thing to do for one's fellow man, as well as being a social, relaxing, enjoyable, scenic stroll.
