  • (1888PressRelease) November 17, 2010 - Regina, SK - Gemini nominee Brooke Palsson (LESS THAN KIND, EYE OF THE BEAST) stars alongside Samantha Somer Wilson (ROCKETMAN, NURSE.FIGHTER.BOY.) in the Daniel Audet written short film script which placed 3rd in the 2008 Canadian Short Screenplay Competition.

    The film is being produced for the Canadian Short Screenplay Competition and Year of the Skunk Productions. David Cormican will produce alongside Associate Producer Dillon Andrews.

    Audet's script is the story of a two teenage girls, Sally (Brooke Palsson), and Ginny (Samantha Somer Wilson), who hang out in an abandoned car on the outskirts of town as they flirt with a ghost story that becomes terrifyingly too real. RUSTED PYRE was a recipient of the 2010 National Screen Institute's Drama Prize and is being supported through the Alberta Foundation for the Arts.

    Shawn Fulton is the director of photography. Gemini winner, Brenda Shenher is Designing Costumes.

    Principal photography will take place November 27 and 28, 2010 in Havelock, Saskatchewan, Canada.

    The film is being produced with the financial assistance of Alberta Foundation for the Arts, Saskatchewan Film Employment Tax Credit and Canadian Film or Video Production Tax Credit.
