  • Chicago, IL (1888PressRelease) December 10, 2010 - The Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) today announced the launch of an iPad app for its consumer magazine, Healthy Mom&Baby. The app was developed in partnership with Boston Hannah International, with whom AWHONN publishes Healthy Mom&Baby magazine.

Targeted primarily to women in their 20s, 30s and 40s - the core patient group served by AWHONN's nurse members - Healthy Mom&Baby magazine, its website and now iPad app, provides information for a healthy pregnancy, baby and life.

The free app includes the complete magazine. The app also has everything a woman needs for a healthy pregnancy at her fingertips, plus exclusive iPad-only features including videos, click-to-reveal articles and quizzes, online-only content and a Go Shopping section with purchase links.

"Research shows that more than two-thirds of all women now seek health information online," said AWHONN's Chief Executive Officer, Karen Peddicord, RNC, PhD. "The Healthy Mom&Baby app allows AWHONN to expand the reach of the magazine beyond the current estimated circulation of four million women to provide them with information in another innovative platform from the experts they trust most - nurses."

The first issue of the magazine has video content and interactive articles that feature suggestions for best nutrition when preparing to get pregnant or when eating for two, breastfeeding advice, how to get fit post baby, an interview with mom and boxer Laila Ali, and much more. The app for the first issue of the magazine is free of charge and following issues will cost only $0.99 each. To preview or download the app, search for Healthy Mom & Baby in the iTunes store, or click here.
