  • Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA (1888PressRelease) November 03, 2013 - Internationally acclaimed swimwear brand La Isla is partnering with St. Anne's, an organization that helps at-risk pregnant young women, mothers, and children.

La Isla founder Enrique Rivera discovered St. Anne's through Earth Angels L.A., a group of models who donate their time to charitable causes in the Los Angeles metro area. After touring the St. Anne's facilities and learning more about the organization, Rivera decided to solidify the partnership by declaring La Isla an official donor. As with the other charities La Isla supports, the company will donate a portion of proceeds to St. Anne's every year.

Operating since 1908, St. Anne's has a long-standing reputation as a safe haven for young women in need. St. Anne's has evolved into "one of the most highly regarded social service agencies committed to developing and sustaining programs that address the special needs of at-risk, pregnant and/or parenting young women, children and families." Says Rivera, "With a similar philosophy to La Isla, St. Anne's finds beauty in empowerment. We both believe that beauty comes from inner strength, and that confidence is the ultimate expression of beauty." La Isla upholds a commitment to community empowerment as well, both with the La Isla 360 program and the brand's partnerships with various charitable organizations.

Born in a bedroom, La Isla has outgrown its physical origins but retained every ounce of its intimacy. Its growth into one of the most recognizable names in swimwear has been entirely organic. So, too, is the means by which the company sustains itself. Never advertised, La Isla focuses solely on the quality and artistry of their product. The brand is known worldwide for the perfect fit, stunning fabrics and unique hand embroidery of its swimwear and apparel.

Over the years, La Isla has been featured and recognized in publications like VOGUE, Sports Illustrated, Sports Illustrated Portfolio (hardcover book), InStyle, Marie Claire, Seventeen, Foam, Surfing Magazine, Transworld Surf, Bazaar, Zink! and in other media such as The David Letterman Show and on E! Entertainment Channel.

La Isla's manufacturing facility is in Medellin, Colombia, where all of the employees are locals and most are head-of-household women. The facility operates using as much natural light as possible, and uses digital printing for many t-shirts to conserve natural resources. And to support the local economy, all fabrics comprising La Isla's 2014 collection will be sourced from Colombia.

La Isla supports many charitable efforts, and has formed partnerships throughout the years with organizations like Children of the Americas and Jean-Michel Cousteau's Ocean Futures Society. Learn more about La Isla's partnerships here.
