  • (1888PressRelease) April 01, 2013 - Dallas, TX - Texas Board of Legal Specialization (TBLS) announced Rebecca Tillery received Board Certification in Family Law. Rebecca currently practices in the KoonsFuller, P.C. Dallas office where she is highly sought after for her thriving appellate practice.

Ms. Tillery is a member of the Dallas Bar Association (DBA), Dallas Association of Young Lawyers (DAYL), Collin County Young Lawyers (CCYLA), Family Law Section of the DBA, Appellate Law Section of the DBA, American Bar Association, and the College of the State Bar of Texas.

She was recently selected for the 2012 DAYL Leadership Class. She shows leadership in the greater legal community with her roles within the Leadership Class, the Dallas Bar Association Legal Lines Committee, and serving as the 2012 Co-Chair of the Dallas Bar Association Admissions and Membership Committee.

There are more than 70,000 attorneys licensed to practice in Texas. Only 7,000 are Board Certified. Board Certified lawyers earn the right to publicly represent themselves as a specialist in a select area of the law. This designation sets them apart as being an attorney with the highest, public commitment to excellence in their area of law. The process is voluntary and can only take place after an attorney has been in practice for five years, with a minimum of three years experience in the specialty area.

Board Certification is not a one-time event. It requires an ongoing involvement in the specialty area, which is periodically substantiated with references from peers in that field. It also requires annual professional refreshment through TBLS approved, continuing legal education course work to stay abreast of current trends in law.
