  • (1888PressRelease) February 10, 2011 - The deal sees Kier use 4Projects' award-winning technology on an enterprise agreement; allowing the construction giant access to 4Projects technology across all their UK activities.

This latest Enterprise agreement means 18 of the top 20 UK construction contractors now use some form of 4Projects technology. This includes three of the top five companies ranked, who use 4Projects as their sole provider of collaborative software.

The Kier Group has already begun to incorporate 4Projects software, including document management and Milestone Manager on 15 different construction projects.

Whilst Kier have long recognised the value of using workgroup support systems such as 4Projects, they had previously split responsibility across a number of different systems. However, having made the decision that it would be more cost-effective and beneficial to go with one company, they set about the task of narrowing the selection down to a single provider who could meet all of their needs. Kier looked at 4Projects, Asite, BIWTech and Buzzsaw, amongst others.

After assessing the core functionality of a number of providers, 4Projects was selected and is now providing services to Kier across the whole of the UK.

Mark Robson, Key Account Manager at 4Projects said: "We are delighted to have been selected as sole collaborative software provider by Kier. The company is one of the most widely recognised and respected in UK construction.

"As the construction industry looks for new ways to streamline processes and reduce costs, the advantages of SaaS collaboration technology are becoming ever more obvious. I'm sure Kier will reap the benefits that come with project managing via a single source of collaborative software."

Stuart Macdougald-Denton, Head of Design for Kier's Major Projects Division commented: "Having previously used collaborative software for a number of projects we felt moving all activity to one provider would enhance the benefits we received. 4Projects offered the most attractive package, from the variety of tools available to the training on how to make the most of them."
