  • (1888PressRelease) February 24, 2011 - TROY, Mich. - From the simplest to the most highly sophisticated innovations, engineers have a vital role in bringing a concept to life. During "Engineers Week," Kelly Engineering Resources, a specialty service of Kelly Services, Inc., will recognize the talents of the vast engineering workforce.

Sponsored by the National Engineers Week Foundation, a formal coalition dedicated to ensuring a diverse and well-educated future engineering workforce, the positive impact the field of engineering has on society will be showcased from February 20th through 26th. Throughout the week, Kelly Engineering Resources offices will also promote engineering internships and careers to engineering college students.

Through its annual Future Engineers Scholarship Program, a sophomore- or junior-level college engineering student who meets program criteria, including submitting a written essay, is awarded a $5,000 scholarship. The 2011 winner is Scott Miller, a student at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities who is pursuing a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, with a focus on Environmental Engineering.

"Each year, we employ thousands of skilled engineering professionals across a wide range of industries," said Tim McAward, vice president and product leader, Kelly Engineering Resources. "Engineers Week is an opportunity to recognize experienced and future engineers for their dedication and innovative contributions to the field."
