  • (1888PressRelease) June 04, 2012 - Newark, TX - On May 5th, Isabelle Cox of Keller, TX, rose above more than 100 local participants to win District 25 level of Toastmasters International Speech Contest, representing clubs from Killeen to the Oklahoma border, and Abilene to Dallas. Cox has qualified to advance to the semifinal rounds of the Toastmasters World Championship of Public Speaking which will be held in Orlando, FL, this August.

Cox, who is a Prayer Minister and a member of Kenneth Copeland Ministries' Toastmasters Club in Newark, TX, stated she joined Toastmasters to become a better speaker for the purpose of sharing the Gospel. She surpassed fierce competition to win the hearts of the audience and judges alike with her speech, 'Love & Respect'. The speech touched on the necessity of love and respect in a successful marriage. When it comes to connecting with an audience, she said, "The key is to connect heart to heart like one friend to another.".

Eighty-two district-level winners from around the world advanced to the semifinal round after a six-month process of elimination through club, area and district speech competitions. Their five-to-seven-minute speeches were judged on content, organization, gestures and style. "What a privilege to bring hope to the hearts of those from many other countries," says Cox, about going to Orlando in August.

The Toastmasters International Speech Contest is the world's largest speech contest comprising 30,000 participants in 116 countries.
