  • (1888PressRelease) November 15, 2012 - Jay's Moving and Storage sponsored the Regina Pats' 7th Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Night November 2nd at Brandt Centre in Regina. This year's event was the biggest yet with fans arriving early to catch all the pre-game events including a performance of "When Pink was Just a Colour" by country singer Kal Hourd and a special ceremony at centre ice honouring breast cancer survivors.

Fans helped to support the cause by buying Pats Pink toques and bidding on Pats Pink jerseys at the silent auction. As well, one dollar from each ticket sold for the game was donated to the Canadian Cancer Society for Breast Cancer Research.

Imagination Ink and the Brandt Centre Ice Crew collaborated to tint the ice surface pink and the Regina Pats proudly wore special edition pink jerseys in a hard fought contest against the Calgary Hitmen, who won the game by a score of 4 - 1.

After the game, fans were invited to a free skate on the pink ice, bringing a new level of participation to this exciting event.

"We are very excited for this year's Breast Cancer Awareness Night," says VP of Operations and Corporate Development Cliff Mapes. "On behalf of the Pats I'd like to thank our partners, the Canadian Cancer Society for joining us in this initiative, our game sponsor Jays Moving and Storage and Imagination Ink for their help turning the ice pink."

The Pats players have always shown great support for this event, using pink tape on their sticks and socks to coordinate with their jerseys, and this year are even more aware of the fact that cancer affects us all having learned the day before the game that one of their former teammates was recently diagnosed with testicular cancer.
Jay's Moving and Storage is proud to be able to support the Regina Pats' 7th Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Night as a part of our ongoing efforts to give back to the communities in which we live and work.
