Intelligrated Showcases PLC Controls for Alvey Robotic Palletizers at ProMat 2011

Mansfield, OH (1888PressRelease) March 17, 2011 - Intelligrated® (www.intelligrated.com), a leading North American-owned automated material handling solutions provider, will showcase its latest breakthrough application in robotic controls, the PLC-controlled Alvey® robotic palletizer, at ProMat 2011 in booth #2903. Using a common programmable logic controller (PLC) platform, the new control system from Intelligrated improves line integration, response time and overall productivity while reducing operator and maintenance training.

PLC-based robotic controls are an alternative to the traditional proprietary robot controller, enabling customers to deploy new Alvey robotic palletizing solutions while maintaining standard familiar control platform. With minimal training, plant floor personnel can support these Intelligrated robotic applications without being "robotic experts."

Intelligrated will display the PLC-controlled Alvey robotic palletizer in the company's ProMat booth (#2903) with a Kuka KR100 robotic arm and custom-programmed Rockwell Automation controls. Intelligrated will also demonstrate automated end-of-arm tool changing in Automate booth (#714) for decreased changeover time and increased handling flexibility.
