  • (1888PressRelease) February 22, 2013 - Oxford, UK - Ray Scott, Director of Professional Services at Grid-Tools, will be a guest speaker at the inaugural Agile Dev Practices conference in Potsdam, Germany, next month.

Ray has been invited to reveal how it is possible to influence programme Quality on large Agile implementations.

"It is often the case that larger projects and programmes lose their focus on Quality," says Ray, "Whilst Agile principles promote 'Working software as the primary measure of progress' there are too many examples of forcing velocity over quality."

A mentor in Agile principles, Ray has over 25 years' experience in the IT industry, including 15 years as a project development lead for a range of Development and Quality System implementations. He also has a reputation as an evangelist, specializing in SCRUM, eXtreme programming methodologies, is a certified SCRUM Master and Practitioner, as well as a recognised Test Methodologist.

Ray's experience is of particular value as he has successfully acted as an 'Agent of Change' on projects where Agile has been introduced from scratch through to managing those in existing Agile environments. Most recently, he was Senior Quality Manager for one of the world's largest agile development programmes, developing and overseeing governance of a cutting-edge Quality programme, leading an international team and working with a range of high profile 3rd party vendors and partners.

"Individuals and teams should have the confidence and know-how to build trust through communication, collaboration and transparency," adds Ray, "they are vital components for achieving success within the fast-paced area of software development and so my focus will be on providing practical insights and methods based on actual project work and scenarios."
