Industrial Technologies 2014 - Making Innovations Count In Greece On 9-11 April 2014
Industrial Technologies 2014 is organised on April 9-11th 2014 in Athens, Greece. The event takes place during the Greek Presidency of the European Council, and follows on from the previous successful Industrial Technologies events in Brussels in 2010 and in Aarhus in 2012.
- (1888PressRelease) January 16, 2014 - Themed 'Smart growth through research and innovation - towards Europe 2020', the three-day Industrial Technologies 2014 conference offers numerous opportunities for networking and the development of valuable industry and research collaborations. The event gives an outlook to European and global developments, trends and innovations in the fields of nano and biotechnology, advanced materials and new production technologies within industries such as the chemical, automotive, healthcare, manufacturing, energy and many more.
The extensive programme includes 4 plenaries, 17 parallel sessions, and 14 workshops with high-level speakers from over 50 countries representing business, government and academia in all the areas of Nanotechnologies, Materials and new Production Technologies. Among the participants and contributors are: Esko Aho, former Prime Minister of Finland (1991 to 1995), currently Senior Fellow in Harvard University; Stefan Rinck, CEO of Singulus Technologies; Prof. Dominique Foray of EPFL; Prof. Javier García Martinez of University of Alicante, who is also a co-founder of Rive Technology; Juan Hernani, General Secretary for Innovation and Industry European Spallation Source and Adrian Harris, Director General of Orgalime (the European Engineering Industries Association), who, for instance, will discuss smart growth through research and innovation in Europe and many more.
The event provides a comprehensive view on industrial research and innovation; highlighting the role of new technologies in every day's life, to addressing challenges from re-industrialisation and regional development in Europe, including sustainability and competitiveness issues.
