    Mr Tetsuo Suzuku, Sr. General Manager, Kubota Agricultural Machinery India P Ltd, Chennai stressed the importance of learning a foreign language. He informed that while he was in Costa Rica, a country in Central America, he learnt Spanish during his three year's of stay as a Japanese Overseas Volunteer and it helped him to understand the people with whom he was working. He also stressed the importance of learning Japanese Language as his company, which commenced its operation at Chennai in 2008, is planning for a huge expansion in manufacturing Tractors and is in need of more and more Indians who have proficiency in Japanese Language.

    Ms. Kayoko Furukawa, Consul, Consulate General of Japan while delivering her Presidential address shared her experience in learning Tamil Language at Chennai and she informed that there are lots of similarities between both the languages. She stressed the importance of learning the language as it will help her in understanding the cultural similarities between India and Japan. The Consul stressed the fact that next year will be a very special year in the Indo-Japanese Cultural Activities. The Japanese Embassy is planning to celebrate the 60th Year Indo Japan economic and cultural relations during 2012 and they are planning lot of cultural programmes. The Consul is gracious in inviting the audience to participate in the festivities to be conducted during the course of 2012. The Consul also interacted with the students and appreciated their interest and enthusiasm in learning Japanese Language at Hayakawa.

    Mr V. Prasanna, a student of Hayakawa Japanese Language School, was sponsored for a month's visit to Hiroshima Kokusai Gakuin Univeristy, Hiroshima, Japan. He shared his personal experience of his work in the various bio-recycling laboratories and his assistance to the Ph.D and Master's students. He also shared his visit to the shrines and Atomic bomb dome monuments and the living conditions that exist in Hiroshima, Japan.

    Mr SP Chenthilkumar, Director explained the activities of S&N Hayakawa and also gave a demo on the Hayakawa Learn Japanese JLPT N5 Interactive Multimedia CD developed by us which will play a very crucial role in learning Japanese Language by the students. The students by using the CD can also learn together with the family members.

    Mr G. Ramesh, Japanese Language Teacher conducted the Japanese Language Class.

    A Live video conferencing was organized for the benefit of the students to interact with the Iwate Prefectural University, Japan. The students of Hayakawa interacted with the students of Iwate Prefectural University Officials on wide range of subjects ranging from opportunities for higher education in Japan, employment opportunities, cultural and sports activities, etc.
