  • (1888PressRelease) April 26, 2014 - Bristol, UK - Imetrum, a world leader in the field of camera-based structural monitoring systems, is pleased to announce the signing of a distribution agreement with US-company RESPEC - an integrated consultancy and services firm with substantial experience in mining.

Through RESPEC, Imetrum's ground-breaking measurement system, the Video Gauge, will now be made available to the North American civil, structural, geotechnical and mining communities with the aim of providing richer data and a quicker, more cost-effective method of assessing structural and geological movement.

Paul Waterfall, Structures Manager at Imetrum comments: "We are delighted to be working with RESPEC, who have some of the best test and measurement engineers we have encountered around the world. Imeterum's cutting-edge technology and continuous desire to innovate is a neat fit with RESPC's forward-thinking approach and commitment to the highest quality technical and advisory services."

Imetrum's engineers have developed the Video Gauge system with the end-user in mind. Within 30 minutes of unpacking, the Video Gauge is able to track a wide variety of structures. Movement can be monitored to better than 0.1mm and recorded video data can be stored for analysis later, or processed and transmitted for real-time monitoring.

RESPEC's original intent was monitoring underground structures in tunnelling and mining industries. R Leo VanSambeek, Vice President, says, "We now see a much broader application for Imetrum's structural monitoring systems on performing mechanical integrity and forensic investigations, potentially in all industries, Measuring movements without having to physically contact the structure, without installing instruments but being able to account for dynamic loads was virtually impossible. Now, such measurements are not only possible but they are accurate and simple."
