Known for his work with national teams and Olympic medaling athletes, Dr. Benardot has yet again put his winning strategies to paper, making them available to the entire world. The 2nd Edition of Advanced Sports Nutrition offers groundbreaking strategies for those serious about physical activity, making it a must read for athletes, coaches, and sports medicine professionals.

"For the first time in any book, this edition focuses on the importance of targeting optimal energy and nutrient distribution hourly rather than viewing optimal nutrient intakes in daily totals. Included are many more food plans for athletes in different sports disciplines, and a new chapter on how to deal with the GI distress that is common to many athletic endeavors.

The 1st edition of Advanced Sports Nutrition, which led the sports nutrition world for the last 6 years, was translated into many languages and sold worldwide. The 2nd edition, because of its novel concepts in energy balance, is expected to be even more successful and have a greater impact. In Advanced Sports Nutrition-2nd Edition, Dr. Dan Benardot includes the latest nutrition concepts that athletes in any sport can understand and apply to their training plan. He breaks down the chemistry of improved performance into winning principles that ensure that athlete's key energy systems are properly stocked at all times.
