  • (1888PressRelease) June 16, 2011 - OMAHA, NE - The special edition of The Briton and the Dane, the first book in historical fiction writer Mary Ann Bernal's trilogy set in Ninth Century Anglo-Saxon Wessex, has been released. The book contains bonus material as well as a new cover designed by graphic designer and illustrator Steven Novak (Novak Illustration).

The special edition cover depicts another aspect of the fight to the death challenge that was originally illustrated when the book was released in 2009.

New material includes an introduction, glossary, discussion items, and a map of the Esbjerg voyage from Denmark to Britannia and a map of Anglo-Saxon Britain.

Bernal has also made the special edition easier to read, having rewritten the dialogue for the modern reader.
