Harris Corporation Opens Research and Development Operation in Texas

(1888PressRelease) August 18, 2010 - SAN ANTONIO, TX, August 17, 2010 — Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS), an international communications and information technology company, has opened a new research and development operation in San Antonio to support the company's military and intelligence and other customers in the Central Texas region.

The 6,000-square-foot Harris Advanced Research and Development Center is located at 903 Billy Mitchell Drive, Building 1. It houses offices, research and development, and demonstration space for several Harris businesses — including Government Communications Systems, RF Communications and Healthcare Solutions. The operation will be staffed by more than 20 new engineering and support positions.

"It also provides the flexibility to significantly expand our presence further as business in the region grows."
