  • Detroit, MI (1888PressRelease) June 30, 2012 - Hansons Windows will be a major supporter of this weekend's "Stars and Stripes" Festival, scheduled to take place in downtown Mount Clemens.

The home improvement company will sponsor the Family Fun Zone and give away tickets to rides and passes to concerts throughout the weekend (June 29-July 1).

The Festival, in its sixth year of celebrating Independence Day, draws over half a million people annually, something not lost on Hansons Windows founder and president Brian Elias.

"Hansons is always looking to do something special for the community and create a win-win situation," Elias said.

The Festival offers carnival rides, worldwide cuisine, art exhibits, national and local performing acts, and it culminates with a spectacular fireworks and laser show.

Hansons Windows has held a presence at the Festival in the past as an exhibitor, but this is the company's first year as a corporate sponsor.

In addition to sponsorship, Hansons will offer Festival attendees a chance to win a $50,000 home makeover.

Festival spokesman Kevin Cassidy said promoters couldn't be happier with Hansons Windows' contributions to the event.

"The reality of the situation is Hansons has a ton of places they could go and they have decided to come here to Mount Clemens," Cassidy said. "It speaks volumes about their commitment to Stars & Stripes as well as the Mount Clemens community and Macomb County in general."

The Hansons Family Fun Zone will be on Pine Street near New Street, near St. Mary School. It will be home to the kiddie rides, the Classic K9s dog show, a bounce house, and the Banana Derby with Capuchin monkeys racing on dogs.

Hansons staff members will be on hand randomly giving away ride tickets, VIP passes and a chance to win the $50,000 home makeover.

"Our employees love to be out there meeting the people," Elias said. "And when we work on someone's house to make it new again, it's always an overwhelming success. We love being part of that."

Founded by Elias in 1988 as a one-man operation selling the leads he canvassed, Hansons Windows is one of the industry's biggest companies. In 2011, Hansons generated $46 million in sales.
