  • Seattle-Bellevue-Everett, WA (1888PressRelease) October 07, 2014 - A tradition since 1960, the St. Demetrios Greek Festival returns this year, October 10, 11 and 12 at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Seattle's Montlake neighborhood.

    Traditional Greek food, music, dancing and culture will be in abundance when St. Demetrios Church's grounds and parking lot, located at 2100 Boyer Avenue East, transform into a Greek paradise.

    Visitors will have plenty of time to enjoy all that the Greek Festival has to offer this year, with hours of operation from noon- 9pm on Friday, October 10th; 10am-9pm on Saturday, October 11th and noon- 7pm on Sunday, October 12th. As always, admission and parking are free, with free shuttle service offered from both the Seattle Prep Parking Garage and Montlake Elementary School Playground on Saturday and Sunday during festival hours. Bike racks will also be available all weekend.

    Come for the food and stay for the entertainment! Traditional Greek food will include lamb sandwiches, gyros, calamari, souvlaki, spanakopita, soups, salads and more, plus Greek desserts and pastries-all homemade and freshly prepared by members of St. Demetrios Church. Visitors may also enjoy a seated meal in the Dining Hall, from noon- 8pm on Friday and Saturday and noon- 7pm on Sunday.

    Greek wine tasting will be available all weekend, and Greek beer and wine will also be served in our Taverna bars, which features big screen TVs that will show all of the weekend's major football, baseball and soccer games. Rain or shine, under the giant white tent at the Greek Festival will be THE place to cheer on your favorite local team.

    The award-winning St. Demetrios Greek Dance Groups will provide entertainment for visitors throughout the weekend, with dancers ranging in age from 5-25+ years old. Live Greek music from Taki and the Mad Greeks will also be featured on the main stage. In addition, church tours will be offered for those wishing to view St. Demetrios' beautiful sanctuary and learn more about the Orthodox faith.

    Be sure to save time for shopping! The Greek Festival offers authentic Greek imports, food and deli staples and packaged pastries as well as bargain hunting in the This n' That Shop. There is even a children's area featuring games, face painting and prizes.
