  • (1888PressRelease) March 15, 2011 - Global Academy Online, (the Academy), announced today the release of new curriculum for its non profit foundation, the Center for Ethics in Free Enterprise leading to certification in Applied Ethics. The Academy is also simultaneously offering a new 10 month, 30 credit hour private label Applied Ethics Masters exclusively to its domestic and international partner colleges and universities..

The Academy's non profit foundation, CEFE, the Center for Ethics in Free Enterprise, is a 15 year veteran of online cyber-based training in entrepreneurship and ethics while managing three online specialty schools plus an Academy created tuition free university. The Academy's ongoing outreach through CEFE to the public through webinars, forums and development of reforms for higher education has provided the organization a unique platform for assisting the public and institutions on five continents.

The growing global economic quagmire in the past two years and the national and local media claims of moral bankruptcy has placed CEFE among the leading advocates for the application of ethics and ethical entrepreneurship. Its programs and training are offered inside schools and among the public and private sector institutional leaders. .

"The Applied Ethics certification is a tough, rigorous, and demanding course that stretches trainees to come away with a year's worth of work in a ten week total immersion training program", states LaFonda Oliver-Bowen, a CEFE Fellow and Sr. Vice President with the Academy. She goes onto say, "It is taught by practitioner experts and when a trainee successfully navigates this program, they will know that they are credible and certified applied ethicists" This program, she offers, will prepare trainees to be appointed CEFE Fellows and capable of training others in CEFE's proprietary Four-Point Community Character & Ethics Program, a program for educators and community leaders.

"There is no question among leaders in business, the non-profits, and the public sector that a growing need for ethics professionals exists", states Oliver-Bowen. She points out that graduates of the masters program will be capable of delivering training in their own workplace or in their community and design applied ethics curriculum models and training protocols for their organizations, communities and local schools.

The genesis for the programs notes Oliver-Bowen comes from the research and study undertaken by Dr. Fred DiUlus, the CEO and Founder of Global Academy Online and the non profit Center for Ethics in Free Enterprise. In the late 80's and throughout the 90's Dr. DiUlus, taught Eastern European industrialists applied ethics and American ethical business practices. As a result of this and other teaching experiences and research in Africa, South America and Asia, it led DiUlus to develop an international curriculum applicable on every continent.

More concerned with applying ethical practices across multiple disciplinary lines from Business to Education and fields beyond, DiUlus directed the growth and development of the applications through Global Academy Online and CEFE. In the late 90's, he created the fundamentals and system for delivering the first universal applied ethics online curriculum for both training certification and collegiate degree programs. "The result", states Ms. Oliver-Bowen "was the birth of the first online certification program in Applied Ethics and the first international and universal Applied Ethics university curriculum".
