    One of the many events happening; and may be considered the shining star for things to do in Carmel-by-the-Sea, is the Carmel Art and Film Festival. This second year event will transform the town into a compelling, venue kicking off with an opening night reception and concert at the Sunset Center. Musicians will play in outdoor courtyards, galleries will host receptions, and the two-day show in the downtown park will allow painters and sculptors an exclusive occasion to display and sell their works. A photography exhibition in one of over 100 nearby galleries will include the works of 50 artists.

    John Cooper, Director of the Sundance Film Festival for 19 years, signed on last year as the director of the Carmel Art and Film Festival.
