  • Philadelphia, PA-NJ (1888PressRelease) April 20, 2016 - The group of talented young adults, that have arrived on the local Philadelphia area music scene as the band known as Something Like Sound, have big plans for their upcoming release that could be expanding them from just the local community. With members from many different backgrounds, that have formed this group to spread their love and passion for music, they plan to be releasing their EP album to be available in over 15 thousand stores world wide, as well as most online retailers and streaming services from iTunes to Spotify. Production is rumored to be taking place in both CD and vinyl versions but with possible delay on the vinyl cut. It is expected to debut sometime this May and is predicted to be well received by critics to good review.

    "Mortalis" is announced to have 7 tracks, 4 of which are never before heard, with word of possible bonus songs and additional content. The album will include a remastered version of their single "She Moves Like Fire" The album is also going to be featuring a track with Patrick Leaver, vocalist of the alternative rock band The Phoenix Bridge, of which Something Like Sound creator and guitarist Ryan Martin once played for. The album has been described by Ryan Martin as being "A bizarre, mellow and melodic mix of Alternative Rock, Indie, Pop and Punk influences with emotional highpoints of Hip-hop, Metal, Grunge, Classical and Classic Rock influences.

    Over the past couple of months they have been putting in much effort to spread their art through out the local Philadelphia music scene. They have established themselves a solid local following from shows and by means of social media, on sites such as Youtube, Twitter, Facebook, Reverbnation, and many more, causing their first singles Flow, No Way Out and She Moves Like Fire, as well as their cover of Clarity by Zedd, to sky rocket from a few listeners to hundreds of thousands of ears worldwide between Youtube and radio airtime. Expect to be seeing some more substantial radio play from this upcoming EP in various places world wide. They may not be playing on your areas mainstream pop channel but you will find them somewhere. Their future plans are to include a plethora of live shows to come with upgrades to their live sound in the way of more advanced equipment and possible additions to the band.
