Gamer Family Gets in on the Tabletop Game Kickstarter Craze. End Quote

Provo-Orem, UT (1888PressRelease) July 31, 2016 - Local Utah family decided it was time to put their years of gaming experience (and general nerdiness) to use. So what do nerds do? Start a tabletop game company of course. Their first game, JAIL 99, went live in mid-July. "We really wanted to do everything ourselves," recalls creator Faralee Pozo. "So there was quite a bit of a learning curve along the way." Several years and three kids later, their first game is finally ready.

Carlos, husband to Faralee, works as an engineer and has multiple 3D printers around the house. "He's always been interested in invention and fabrication," says his wife. They have several more games and ideas in the works, they say, but are trying to focus on one thing at a time. "When we started out, we were making the games just for ourselves. We didn't feel like there were enough co-op type games out there, so we made one. Now, after all the experience we gained in designing the pawns and working with a manufacturing company and testing and everything, the next few games should go much smoother. We hope."

Faralee, who is studying to be an editor on the side, started JAIL 99 with just a story. "The theme in games has always been really important to me. Actual game-play is a big deal too, but secondary to what a game is actually about." What's the game like? "It's Star Trek meets Clue meets Runebound meets just a bunch of silliness," says Faralee. As one of the pledge rewards on the Kickstarter Campaign, they also created a fictional e-book novelette based on the game.

The couple says their three kids have gotten in on the action as well, making games of their own. "That has been my favorite part of this process. Watching mommy and Daddy work so hard on this has really inspired our kids. Most of the games our kids have made are just variations on a Candyland type game. But a few were really different," says Faralee. "We are definitely planning manufacturing one or two of them with Cachebachi Games in the future."

Cachebachi Games' first tabletop game, JAIL 99 (Joint Armed-force Intergalactic Lockup) went live in July and is available on Kickstarter till August 15th.
