GEE To Sponsor Art Gala Honoring Developmentally Challenged Artists
Great Eastern Energy reaches out into the community to contribute to a great cause: helping developmentally challenged artists and paying tribute to their artworks.
- New York, NY (1888PressRelease) February 07, 2014 - Great Eastern Energy announced it will be co-sponsoring the YAI Art With Feeling event to be held Thursday night in New York.
GEE is the official energy supplier fir YAI facilities throughout New York.
The event will showcase the talents of artists with developmental disabilities who participate in the YAI ARTS program, created to provide opportunities for artistic growth and empowerment.
According to their site (yai.org), "Art encourages us to understand and appreciate abilities in a new light. For people with developmental disabilities, art can open up a whole new world of communication, facilitating self-expression and independence." Work from YAI artists will be on display.
At the gala Feb. 6, prizes will be raffled off including an iPad mini and fashion accessories from Francesca's collections.
GEE has long supported its community with humanitarian events and contributions for over 17 years.
