  • (1888PressRelease) March 10, 2012 - Montreal, Canada Montreal, Canada - Future Electronics, a global leading distributor of electronic components, announces immediate availability of the new 150 Watt Half-Brick DC/DC Power Converters from Wall Industries.

Designed for use in railway systems and other harsh environments, the new DCHBW150 series of DC/DC power converters can deliver up to 182 Watts of output power in an industry standard 2.40" x 2.28" x 0.50" half-brick package and footprint. The DCHBW150 series consists of 3.3V, 5V, 12V, 15V, 24V, 28V, and 48VDC single output models that operate over 4:1 input voltage ranges of 9-36VDC, 16.5-75VDC, and 43-160VDC. Standard features include high efficiency up to 91%, soft start, adjustable output voltage, remote sense, 2250VDC I/O isolation, and positive remote ON/OFF control.

David Carroll, Product Marketing Manager for Future Electronics explained, "All models in the DCHBW150 series are RoHS compliant and have UL60950-1, EN60950-1, and IEC60950-1 safety approvals."

The DCHBW150 series of DC/DC converters( http://www.futureelectronics.com/en/power-supplies/dc-dc-power-supplies.aspx ) have no minimum load requirements and operate over a case temperature range of -40°C to +115°C. These converters have a MTBF rating of 1,010,000 hours using Bellcore TR-NWT-000332 and 74,160 hours using MIL-HDBK-217F. These converters are also protected against short circuit, over voltage, over current, and over temperature conditions. The DCHBW150 series has several different options available which include negative remote ON/OFF, terminal blocks, case pin, sync pin, pin lengths, heatsinks, thru-hole inserts, and DIN rail clip option. Carroll added, "In addition to railway systems, this series is ideal for use in wireless networks, telecom/datacom, industry control systems, semiconductor equipment, and distributed power architectures."
