"I'm so excited and thankful to add these fantastic faculty members to our core faculty this fall," Dr. Paul Alexander, Vice President for Academic Affairs, said. "Their breadth of training, experience and expertise will keep us moving ahead at full speed toward our goal of providing the highest quality Christian education for our students."

Joining the College of Psychology & Counseling are Drs. Amadi and Pate. Dr. Amadi holds a Psy.D. and M.A. from Azusa Pacific University. She is the co-founder of The Ruby Project, a non-profit youth organization that helps teen girls who have experienced a crisis, such as abuse or violence, or are struggling with a personal challenge, such as body image or bullying. As an Assistant Professor, Dr. Amadi is looking forward to "engaging with students in and out of the classroom, to contributing to the psychology department in creative ways, to increasing my own scholarship through teaching and research, and to new relationships and partnerships!"

Dr. Pate is transitioning from his role as an adjunct faculty member at HIU into the position of Associate Professor. Having earned his Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from Rosemead School of Psychology, Dr. Pate also works as an adjunct professor for The Chicago School of Professional Psychology and as a Psychologist for Pacific Clinics. Pate is excited about bringing "a high level of energy, passion, and excitement about the field of psychology and how it can be useful to all of us here at Hope and to students in particular as they head into their various areas of work and ministry."

The College of Education welcomes Professor Hike to her new position as Associate Professor. Having earned both her B.S. in Human Development and M.Ed. with concentrations in Elementary Education and Curriculum Development from HIU, Professor Hike is excited to take on a full-time position at her alma mater. For the past four years, she has been working as an adjunct professor at HIU. She has also served at River Spring Charter School since 2003 in positions ranging from instructor to student achievement advisor. Professor Hike is currently earning her Ph.D. in Education with a concentration in Neuroeducation from Walden University.

Dr. Lines, a graduate of Asbury Theological Seminary where he earned a Ph.D. in Intercultural Studies, joins the faculty in the Pacific Christian College of Ministry & Biblical Studies. A former Field Team Leader for CMF International, he served as a cross cultural missionary and team leader in South Africa for nine years. Most recently, Dr. Lines was an adjunct instructor at a mission institute in East Africa and the Interim Preaching Minister for Hill-n-Dale Christian Church in Lexington, KY.

Professor Karen McReynolds has been teaching science in the College of Arts & Sciences on an adjunct and part-time basis, but now she moves into a full-time position as Assistant Professor. "I'm most looking forward to continued relationships with students," she said. "I am ready to concentrate my time and energy on long-term projects as a full time professor and was delighted to be asked to come on board-full time." A self-professed "champion for science," Professor McReynolds has a B.S. in Physical Geography from Northern Arizona University and a M.A. in Natural Science from San Jose State University.
