With summer quickly approaching, Fred's Mexican Café in Old Town San Diego is unleashing its first annual Cinco de Mayo Yappie Hour Fashion Show benefiting the San Diego Humane Society. This is a free and public event that takes place on Monday, May 2, 2011, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm under our outdoor heated patio deck. RSVP is suggested but not required. Guests will enjoy doggie giveaways, including gift certificates to local pet shops and groomers, and a "Doggie Fashion Show" with a grand prize of a $100 Free Fiesta Gift Certificate for Fred's Mexican Café. There will also be free dog meals given to all dogs in attendance. Guests are asked to donate items from the San Diego Humane Society website at http://www.sdhumane.org/site/PageServer?pagename=don_WishList. Items may be delivered to Fred's Mexican Café on the night of the event, as well as 7 days a week between the hours of 11am and 10pm until May 3, 2011.

    Fred's Mexican Café will have the pups thinking they have been cast for the 2011 version of Lassie with Old Town's own canine photographer, David Veit, photographing the pups take their turn down the runway to Lady Gaga showing off their favorite outfits. As a former banker, business executive and dog trainer, David Veit decided later in life to follow his passion and become an Environmental Dog Photographer. David strives to capture each dog as their owner has never seen them before or capture their everyday personality through their puzzled look or mischievous eyes. David will be making free canine portraits and candids at the event. The photos will be available online in a variety of formats (prints, merchandise & downloads) at reasonable prices, and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the San Diego Humane Society.
