  • (1888PressRelease) April 30, 2014 - The French Pavilion at Intersolar 2014 is being organized by UBIFRANCE, the French export-support agency, in partnership with Renewable Energies Trade Association of France (SER), the France Solar Industry brand, and the French-German Office for Renewable Energy (OFAEnR). The trade fair, which is the largest in the world devoted to solar power, will take place from 4 to 6 June of this year, in Munich (in the south of Germany).

The participating French-based companies, which are looking to develop partnerships in the UK, will be available for one-to-one business meetings on the French Pavilion (Hall C3.230, Stand M75) during Intersolar 2014. A French-themed drinks reception will also be hosted on the pavilion on Wednesday 4 June from 4.30pm onwards.

The 2013-2017 Global Market Outlook report, published by the European Photovoltaic Industry Association (EPIA), states that solar energy now accounts for a worldwide output in excess of 100,000 MW. Germany alone generates close to a third of the solar energy produced worldwide (32.4 GW), ahead of Italy. In France, the installed solar-power capacity connected to the grid stood at an overall total of 4.33 GW in late 2013, ranking the country third in Europe and sixth worldwide.

In January 2013, the French government introduced measures aimed at boosting the sector and at enabling it to reach its target of developing at least 1,000 MW in solar projects every year. In making full use of its innovative abilities through the country's R&D centres and high-technology competitiveness clusters, France's photovoltaic industry has the clear potential to become a major player on the European market.
