  • (1888PressRelease) September 11, 2010 - K 2010, the International Trade Fair for Plastics and Rubber, will take place in Düsseldorf (in Germany) from 27 October to 3 November 2010. Located in Halls 1, 3, 5 and 8a, The French Pavilion is organized in partnership with industry associations recognized for their skills and expertise.

The France Pavilion, organized by UBIFRANCE, the French agency for international business development, in charge of export support, will host 70 companies representing the entire plastics manufacturing industry, from raw materials and specialist equipment to finished products. The 70 exhibitors on the France Pavilion represent all sectors of the plastics-and-rubber industry and their exhibits will be distributed according to the participating company's business activity.

Once more, this year, the France Pavilion will host the Matériautech - a tool for creating ideas that invites users on a 'sensory voyage' through the world of plastics. It will feature all that is needed for selecting the right material, with full control over the user's impressions of the product, i.e. colours, effects, transparency, feel, smell, sound, etc. The Matériautech gives rise to productive exchanges between creators seeking information on plastics and industrialists keen to promote their products.

With annual sales of plastics-and-rubber products amounting to €30 billion, France ranks among the world's major players in the sector. Indeed, France is among the top five plastics exporting countries worldwide. In Europe, France is in second place behind Germany, and Germany is France's leading commercial partner in this sector. France's 3,750 companies in the sector export €6.7 billion worth of goods annually.

An estimated 3,000 companies will take part in the K 2010 exhibition in Düsseldorf, across 19 exhibition halls covering a surface area of over 160,000 square metres. Manufacturers of raw materials and finished goods, as well as builders and users of production machinery in the plastics-and-rubber sector, come to K 2010 because it represents a world-class forum for the industry. At least 200,000 industry visitors from all over the world are expected to attend K 2010 in order to gather information on offerings in the industry worldwide, and find out about the latest trends.

As a true global hub for innovation, K 2010 is the trade event offering the widest possible range of ideas and products in the plastics-and-rubber industry, all revolving around customers' centres of interest and the evolution of their needs and expectations. Even though the materials are widely known and used, the plastics industry is a dynamic and innovative one. It is characterized by a constant stream of new products, new processes and new applications, as well as by increasingly intense competition.
