  • (1888PressRelease) February 10, 2011 - Baltimore, Maryland - For Faith Based and Community Initiatives, Dr. Cheryl Hill has been someone to know. In her role as the Faith Based and Community Initiatives Outreach Coordinator for the State of Maryland, Hill was responsible for building the capacity of faith based and non- profit organizations throughout Maryland. Now, Hill plans to apply what she's learned in government to help nonprofits and non government organizations become more successful.

Over a year ago, Hill left the government and the private industry to launch Integrity International Consulting Group, LLC (IICG), a consulting group focused on working with both for-profit and non-profit organizations building the capacity of their passion primarily in the areas of agriculture, education, health, micro finance and water resources. Assisting organizations with infrastructure, start up and sustainability plans is her focus.

IICG's tag line is …"beyond business". Hill said she has launched the group with three to four core team members who have played a role in her life for over 10 years.

What distinguishes IICG from many consulting groups is a "blend of corporate skills with a deep sense of social responsible mandates", Hill said.
While working for the government, Hill helped to develop and implement initiatives to bring faith and grassroots leaders to the table of planning for the State of Maryland. She also facilitated and lead the dialogue for government and faith based partnerships, which resulted in destroying the barriers of culture, faith, gender and social status of Maryland's faith and community leaders and created a strong community base for Maryland.

The launch of "Engage Africa International" (EAI) is reflective of an overall demand from non-profit organizations and for-profit entities with a mandate to do business in Africa seeking a safe environment to invest and meet their social responsibility in their sphere of influence. Part of the interest from nonprofits and corporation's stems from a desire to adopt for-profit business practices with non-profit compassion, IICG's Chief of Operations, James Cooper said. While there are other consulting groups in the U.S. doing similar work, Hill believes that EAI is filling a need for a perfect match of both the for-profit and the non-profit world.

"Corporations want to have an impact, but few have the time and resources to build the infrastructure and programs to ensure that their giving makes a significant difference," Hill said.

Despite starting in a down economy, she believes her company will find its niche.
"As resources lessen, funders and donors will be looking to allocate dollars to organizations that will have the most impact," Hill said.
