Fontbonne University Adds New Member to Board of Trustees

  • St. Louis, MO-IL (1888PressRelease) August 06, 2014 - Fontbonne University has named long-time local banker Allen Grieve to its Board of Trustees.

    Grieve has been in the banking industry for 45 years and has been senior vice president and division manager of correspondent banking and commercial services division of the First National Bank of St. Louis since 2002. He has also served in administrative or executive positions at several other banking institutions throughout his career.

    "I'm really excited about joining the Fontbonne University Board of Trustees for a variety of reasons," Grieve said. "This is another opportunity for me to help the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet continue their mission at a very important institution. I've always thought highly of Fontbonne, and I'm thrilled with this wonderful opportunity to serve."

    In the 1970s, Grieve established the Boatmen's National Bank of St. Louis Cash Management Department. Additional career highlights include being named the 1981 Treasury Management Institute Cash Management Man of the Year, co - founder of the Regional Bank Corporate Services Group and founding member of the Bank Administration Institute Corporate Services Quality Forum. He served as chairman from 1986 to 1993.

    Grieve previously served as a board member at The Fellowship of Christian Athletes, St. Louis Area American Diabetes Association and Southern Financial Exchange. He holds a bachelor's degree from Washington University in St. Louis, MBAs from Saint Louis University and the Stonier Graduate Degree in Banking from the American Bankers Association. Grieve also served with the United States Army and the Missouri Army National Guard.

    Currently, Grieve is involved with the Nazareth Living Center and the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet - a connection that brought him to Fontbonne.
