  • (1888PressRelease) March 22, 2011 - In December, the station showed true Christmas spirit by donating 1,000 blankets to local homeless shelters in Dallas, Fort Worth, and Arlington. In February, FishBowl was disguised as a romantic cupid and teamed up with a local elementary school to send Valentine Day cards to troops overseas. Now, in March, the station has teamed up with The Stew Pot, located in downtown Dallas, to feed those less fortunate.

1 in 6 Americans struggle with hunger on a daily basis. These Americans just aren't those that are homeless, either. There are hard-working individuals that we all know, like a coworker, classmate, or neighbor, who can't keep food on the table and are forced to skip meals - sometimes several meals or even days without eating. Because the cost of healthy food is increasing, when they do get to eat, the food they consume is often times non-healthy or "junk food."

At the end of the month, the canned food drive at the station will end, and cans will be delivered by on-air radio personalities to the Stew Pot to help feed those that are hungry.
