  • (1888PressRelease) October 19, 2013 - Thanks to this technology, it is now possible to manage access control, both centrally and remotely, without needing to go on site in order to add or remove keys. Many companies in the UK have already implemented FDI solutions on their premises.

Entacom, a specialist in security and intercom solutions based in Brighton (in Southern England), installed an Easydoorcontroller system on its new premises. Managing Director Will Hobden says: "Easydoorcontroller was installed very rapidly and enables us to manage access to different buildings for our clients for very little cost. We are no longer obliged to go on site to add or remove keys in the controllers. The small size of Easydoorcontrollers also allows for their integration into street panels, which avoids supplementary cabling. Furthermore, we feed them with a direct energy supply from the street panel, therefore lowering the cost of installation."

The main advantage of this type of system, as developed by FDI, is the reduction in installation time. In the case of a traditional network access system, each controller must be wired to a single network. With Easydoorcontroller, the controller and the reader simply need to be placed in the desired location and connected to the electricity supply. The keys are programmed directly through the website via an encoder, which is connected to the computer: subsequently, the keys themselves transmit data to the controllers regarding access profiles and the programming of doors.

With the Easydoorcontroller system, which is based in the Cloud, there is no need to install software onto a computer: a simple internet connection is enough. This saves programming time and eliminates compatibility issues with the client entity's operating system.

Once the simple online registration has been completed, the keys can be programmed. Should the computer be stolen or encounter technical problems, no data is lost thanks to the secure and automatic storage of the data on an FDI server.

Thanks to the way the system is configured and operated, it is possible to replace one or more keys remotely by cancelling the selected key via the online account and programming its replacement key which, from its first use on the door, will instantly block the old key.

Over the past few years, FDI has built up close and trusting relations with British distributors, enabling it to become well-established in the UK, with a long-term future in this market. An FDI access-control system, along with an Ipervoice d'Urmet intercom system, was installed in the London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games Athletes' Village, which illustrates FDI's success in the British market.

Philippe Mallard, Managing Director of FDI, says: "Our aim has always been to offer simpler solutions which make it possible to save installation time and to offer simplified and complete management of access control."
