  • Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA (1888PressRelease) February 09, 2011 - Fashion will again unite with film as the medium of choice for LA based, celebrity designer Lauren Elaine. Following on the heels of the successful campaign films for both the FW2010 and SS2011 seasons, Lauren Elaine will continue the tradition for FW2011- expanding the concept of utilizing cinematic storytelling to present a more in-depth, abstract look into collection inspirations and themes- a growing trend in the fashion world. The new collection, loosely inspired by a world of masquerade, a recent trip to Venice, and her signature "modern-princess" design aesthetic, will lens in mid-February, with the premiere of the film during LA Fashion in March. Teaming up with Doomraider Mob Productions, the FW2011 campaign film will and star Kiersten Brada and Brett Howell.

"Nothing is able to better capture the essence and inspiration behind a new collection than film. Not only are we able to clearly showcase the silhouettes and movement through moving images, but we're able to throw sound and emotion into the mix to create a representation of the collection that still campaigns just can't touch," says Elaine. "There are so many similarities between fashion and film. As a designer, I've always looked at fashion as a sort of escape from the mundane. You're able to become a new 'character' by changing an outfit. Similarly, film is all about the escape. It's about venturing into a new world- a world created and explored by the characters. Usually, if the film's good- some part of you wants to become those characters. It's completely transforming- much like fashion."

A film school graduate specializing in Art Direction, Elaine notes the importance of location and production design as a strong element of storytelling. For FW2011, Castle Antiques of North Hollywood, CA will serve as major backdrop for the film. With an impressive 35,000 sq ft showroom housing exquisite 18th to mid 20th century European antiques, Castle Antiques provides the perfect ambiance for capturing the themes of decadence, luxury, and old-world mystery that are prevalent in the FW2011 Black Label Collection.

In addition to starring Kiersten Brada as the Face of FW2011, the film will feature special appearances by the faces of SS2011 and FW2010- Hailey Harper and Chelsea Rae Keller. Co-starring in the film is Samantha Sergeant, Emma Baker, and Sabyr Omens, as well as actors Wendell Moore, Brandon Drozd, and Evan Miller. Doomraider Mob will oversee production and post, with cinematography by Kevin Gosselin. The film will be helmed by Adam Powell. Shooting commences in Julian, CA on February 12th.
