  • Rochester, NY (1888PressRelease) August 04, 2015 - This weekend August 8 and 9 the Festival will be honoring myths, legends and hopes for the future as the 39th Annual Sterling Renaissance Festival celebrates Fantasy, Fairies and the Future Weekend.

    Sprites and fairies, barbarians, mythic creatures, and travelers from other times will all be making an appearance at this weekend's festivities. Visitors are encouraged to dress the part and join the Adult Costume Exhibition for fun and prizes.

    Also featured this weekend Jacques Ze Whippeur, a one-man, whip-cracking, horn honking act. Jacques considers his character to be a good mix of Pepe Le Pew and Lumiere from "Beauty and the Beast", with the flamboyance of Jack Sparrow.     With so much happening throughout the day-including jousting and circus-style performances to musical and minstrel groups, to delicious food, to world-class artisans offering hand-made wares-there is something for everyone at the Festival. The Sterling Renaissance Festival, near Oswego, NY, is one of the oldest and most successful producers of professional interactive entertainment in the world.

    The Festival takes place on Saturdays and Sundays, now through August 16. It is open from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm. Tickets can be purchased online or at the gate.
