Extentia CEO, Umeed Kothavala, and Executive Vice President, Preeti Gupte, addressed the audience on 'Transform Your Business: Leverage the Power of Mobile Technology'.

Given the exponential growth in smart mobile devices, and the increasing use of the mobile medium by businesses, the Extentia executives spoke about how local enterprises could leverage mobile technology to be more innovative, enable smarter sales and service processes, reach out to new customers, and connect with existing customers.

The audience at the event was made up of about 25 senior women entrepreneurs and executives. There was considerable interest in how mobile tools could help their internal business processes, and the use of the mobile medium to promote their offerings to customers and prospects.

Extentia is a global software development company from Pune, India, with an established presence worldwide. TechPOWR, now a part of the EWC, is a technology-focused women's networking group founded to help members learn technology issues through dialogues across industries.

"The mobile medium is a highly effective marketing and customer engagement tool, that helps push innovation, and generates new business opportunities," said Kothavala. "Many businesses are getting onboard and providers like us are able to work on innovative solutions that best demonstrate what their business can accomplish and enables great visibility and support for interactive relationships with customers."

Gupte added, 'We've built mobile applications for a wide variety of customers and the demand continues to grow. As a knowledge leader in the mobile development space, we find that customers come to us for complete guidance on this new medium. We work with them right from the application concept stage to actually marketing their businesses on the mobile platform."

The environment at the event was informal with several questions for the speakers. The session which included ideas, facts and anecdotes focused on addressing attendee questions and giving them a first look at how mobility can internally and externally impact and change their businesses. The audience was encouraged to consider their mobility plans for their business first for a 6 month timeline - what to start now, and a 3 year timeline after that - what to plan for the next generation. As part of Extentia's longer term commitment to facilitating businesses mobility, Extentia also offered a free consulting and idea generation engagement to all attendees who were interested in learning more over the next few months.

At the end there was an active question and answer session, followed by one-on-one conversations and several impromptu creative sessions to trigger the thinking process.

'I learned a ton about how I can apply the ever changing world of mobile technology to my business. In addition to informative discussions about the topic, I made a few new contacts. You couldn't ask for a better win/win evening!' said Paula Franetti, President & CEO at Parallax Health.

'As the organizer of the event I have terrific feedback on the information Extentia offered. Many members did not have a good understanding of the capabilities of mobile technology, and now are better informed. They are considering how it can aid them for business. I look forward to Preeti Gupte continuing to be a resource for our members,' said Linda Richardson, Co-Chair, EWC Technology Committee, and Co-Founder, TechPOWR
