During the eight-month program, students gain basic knowledge of major equipment such as X-ray units, dental equipment, such as digital ultrasonic units, oxygen tanks, oral evacuation equipment and more. After students complete all coursework and labwork, they are assigned to a dental assisting externship at a dental office to better prepare for careers with dental offices, dental supply manufacturers, dental departments in hospital settings, insurance companies and more.
