EMCO Network Inventory Becomes Compatible with Windows 7 and Windows 2008 R2

The new version is fully compatible with Windows 7 and Windows 2008 R2 and allows remote collection of hardware and software inventory information from computers running the said operation systems. The new version also includes inventory report generation improvements and new features that allow exporting scan data and building a report based on the custom inventory scan results.
Network Inventory is a network audit tool that is used to collect hardware and software information from PCs located in a local network. It provides clientless audit of remote Windows PCs and collects inventory information from remote computers into a centralized database, which is used to generate detailed inventory reports for selected PCs and a general report for the entire organization.
The application offers a set of predefined inventory report templates that can be used to generate typical reports. Those reports can be easily customized. Starting from version 5.6, network administrators can provide the company, report author and other information to be displayed on the report title page and included as a header on every report page.
Another useful feature of Network Inventory allows scanning the registry and the file system on network computers. That feature can be used in multiple cases, for example, to detect installation of a custom application, or to find unlicensed video and music content on users' desktops. The new version of Network Inventory allows network administrators not only to find requested information remotely, but also to export the search results as a file in various formats. The exported data can be used for generating reports or application in external tools and utilities.
