  • New York, NY (1888PressRelease) May 07, 2015 - The British College, Kathmandu was very pleased to welcome Hon. Chitra Lekha Yadav (Minister for Education, Nepal) and Mr. Guy Harrison (Charge d 'Affaires at the British Embassy) for a visit on Thursday 2 April 2015.

    The Minister listened with interest as Senior Staff explained various aspects of TBC's operations, including how the franchised degree programs from the UK universities (Leeds Beckett University and the University of the West of England) are influencing the teaching and management of TBC.

    The Minister showed particular interest in the issues relating to Quality Assurance and how the UK Quality Assurance Agency operates.

    Mr. Harrison, Charge d ' Affairs at the British Embassy also commented that the franchise mode of the British Education system has been successful in countries for example, China, Singapore, Thailand which countries have taken benefit from British Education. He further commented that if this type of franchise mode also happens more frequently in Nepal he was sure Nepal could benefit and The British Embassy was always there to support and promote British Education System in Nepal.

    In conclusion, the CEO of TBC, Mr. Rajen Kendal said, "We are here to give quality education and to support the Nepalese education system and universities where we can develop education in Nepal and at the same time we are supporting with training to develop the skills of Nepalese lecturers and teacher.
